Clauses and phrases combine to form sentences. A clause is a collection of words that includes at least one subject and one verb. Simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex sentences are the four categories of sentences.
Sentence Structure and Its Types
Simple Sentence
One independent clause makes form a basic sentence. An independent clause is a group of words that may stand alone as a sentence and expresses a complete notion. It must contain at least a verb and a noun. An item can also be found in a simple statement. Take a look at the following examples:

Any police force’s principal focus must be public safety, which is also an autonomous clause with an object. There is a subject, a verb and an object in this sentence.
Compound Sentence
A compound sentence consists of two or more independent clauses that have been combined together. Coordinating conjunction or a semi-colon can be used to unite clauses in two different ways. The terms for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so makeup coordinating conjunctions.

Typical Grammatical Mistakes
A comma splice is a grammatical error that occurs when two independent sentences are joined together with only a comma.
It’s also grammatically improper to employ no punctuation or connecting words between separate clauses, which is known as a run-on phrase.
Complex Sentence
A complicated sentence is made up of one independent clause and one or more dependent clauses that supplement the independent clause with additional information. A dependent clause does not fully express a concept. In a complex sentence, one notion is usually more significant than the others.

Sentences with a compound-complex structure
