Education is a process of learning. It doesn’t mean going to school and learn only academic education. Education teaches us how to live our lives in a proper way. It enables us to think and discover our environment. Therefore, for one’s well-being getting an education regarding academic, moral, or physical is something important. There are many types of education and the following are some of them.
Types of Education
Formal Education
Formal education takes place in school. It refers to the fundamental academic information that a child acquires during formal education. This consists of elementary school, secondary school, and colleges. Both the student and the teacher are aware of the facts and are actively involved in the educational process. Classroom learning, Institute grading/certification, and organized instruction of several disciplines with an appropriate syllabus acquired by visiting an institution are some examples of formal education.
Informal Education
This is the form of education in which a parent teaches a child skills other than academics, such as cooking or riding a bicycle. Informal education is also available through books and educational websites. This is education that does not get through a proper learning process in schools. It is not purposeful. It is a type of experience acquire by regular practice and observation of others. Teaching a child with specific basic personality qualities, learning a mother tongue, participating in certain extracurricular activities, and so on are some examples.
Non-formal Education
Adult basic education or skill development are all terms that describe adult basic education. It can take several forms of learning that are offered on a continuous and systematic basis in order to develop a specific skill or aptitude in an individual. This style of schooling is extremely adaptable and encompasses a diverse range of activities. Fitness programs, community-based adult education classes, and free courses on various platforms are some examples.
