Historical Background of Prophet NUH (AS)
When we talk about Prophet Nuh’s (AS) tale, there are various incidents that occur from the beginning to the finish.
People on Earth began to practise idolatry as time passed. This behaviour became so common that whenever one of the virtuous people died, statues were erected in their honour, and subsequent generations began to worship them and treat them as gods. These gods, they believed, would bring them good, protect them from evil, and provide for all of their needs. Waadan, Nasran, and other names were given to their idols. These were originally the names of excellent people who lived among them.
Therefore, Then Allah (SWT) sent Prophet Nuh (AS) to lead his people back to Allah’s righteous path. He was a great public speaker and a patient man. He used to point out the intricacies of life and the wonders of the universe to his people. In addition, Prophet Nuh (AS) admonished his followers to worship no one except Allah. He explained how the devil had been deceiving them for a long time and that the moment had arrived for the deception to end. Only the weak and destitute, especially the labourers, believed him; the wealthy did not. The wealthy, filled with icy suspicion, negotiated with the impoverished and advised Prophet Nuh (AS) to abandon his goal. These sceptics stated:
