Azam Khan to Play for Barbados Royals Again
Known for his aggressive batting style and powerful striking ability, Azam brings both entertainment and impact to the middle order.
Last season, Azam Khan showcased his hitting prowess, scoring 178 runs in 8 innings at an average of 22.25, which included a crucial half-century. His strike rate of 125.00 was among the best for middle-order batsmen, making him a valuable asset in T20 cricket.
The Royals’ head coach Trevor Penney expressed confidence in Azam’s return, stating:
“We are pleased to welcome Azam Khan back. He was a dynamic presence last season, bringing energy and power to our batting lineup. His enthusiasm and commitment are exactly what we need in the squad.”
Azam Khan also had an impressive outing earlier this year in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he represented Islamabad United. He scored 296 runs in 11 innings at an average of 30.00, The wicketkeeper-batsman, emerging as one of his team’s top scorers.
The Barbados Royals squad also features other international stars like Quinton de Kock, David Miller, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman, forming a powerful overseas contingent for the 2025 CPL season.
Jamaica Tallawahs Sign Mohammad Amir and Retain Imad Wasim
In another exciting development, the Jamaica Tallawahs have secured the services of Pakistan’s seasoned left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir and all-rounder Imad Wasim as their overseas signings.
Mohammad Amir, who previously played for the Barbados Royals, is making a move to the Tallawahs for the 2025 season. His record in last year’s tournament was impressive—he picked up 11 wickets in just 7 matches at an exceptional average of 13.54. His best bowling figures were 3 for 21, highlighting his ability to deliver match-winning spells in the powerplay and at the death, The wicketkeeper-batsman
The left-arm spinner bagged 9 wickets in 6 matches with an economy rate that kept the opposition in check. His average of 15.22 and best figures of 3 for 15 made him one of the most effective spinners in the tournament.
The addition of these Pakistani players adds significant depth and experience to the Jamaica Tallawahs lineup, as they aim for a strong campaign in the 2025 CPL.
