Alex Hales led Islamabad with 62 from 38 balls. After United slipped to 109 for six, Faheem Ashraf struck 55 from 28 balls and shared an important partnership with Liam Dawson.

Mohammad Wasim Jr then hit two sixes from the final two deliveries of the innings to finish unbeaten on 12 and lift Islamabad to 199 for eight. Shahid Afridi and James Faulkner took two wickets each for Quetta.

Jason Roy gave Quetta a fast start

Chasing 200, Jason Roy and Ahsan Ali added 88 for the opening wicket. Roy scored 54 from 27 balls, including 10 fours and one six, while Ahsan contributed 30.

Shadab Khan brought Islamabad back into the contest by dismissing Roy, James Vince and Umar Akmal. He finished with three wickets for 25 runs.

Sarfaraz Ahmed completed the chase

Quetta captain Sarfaraz Ahmed remained unbeaten on 50 from 32 balls. James Faulkner added a rapid 23 from eight deliveries as Quetta reached the target with five wickets down in the final over.

Sarfaraz was named Player of the Match for his unbeaten half-century in the successful chase.
