Qatar Finance Minister arrested over exploiting his powers and misuse of public funds. The attorney general ordered the arrest to oversee the crimes committed in the civil services. Ali Shareef Al Emadi was the finance minister of the gas-rich Gulf state since 2013 June. The alleged was holding multiple roles that include Qatar’s sovereign wealth funds and chairman of the country’s national bank. Lately, Emadi was appointed as part of a new cabinet by the Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. However, the Emirs office issued a decree, reliving Emadi of his ministerial responsibilities.
