Yesterday, Sabatin Khan, the unanimous candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Muslim League (Q), was elected as the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly by getting 185 votes.
Mohammad Sabtain Khan, who was electe Speaker Punjab Assembly, was born in 1958 in Mianwali District. He obtained his master’s degree in political science from Punjab University in 1982.
Speaker Punjab Assembly Muhammad Sabatin Khan has been electe member of Punjab Assembly four times. From 1990 to 1993, he served as Minister of Prisons in the Assembly.
2002-2007 performed his duties as Provincial Minister of Minerals in the Assembly. From 2013 to 2018, he was electe Member of Punjab Assembly for the third time.
In the 2018 general elections, he was electe Member of Punjab Assembly for the fourth time and served the people of the province as the Minister of Forests and Wildlife. He also served as Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly during the recent constitutional crisis.
