Belarusian Journalist Roman Protasevich Confesses on State TV

The family of the Belarusian Journalist terms the interview as forced. Roman Protasevich confesses to organizing the anti-government protests. However, the family of the Belarusian Journalist Roman Protasevich says the source put pressure to confess. The 26 years old Journalist was under custody at Minsk Airport in May. The latest interview of Mr. Protasevich has spread controversies all around the internet. The Journalist confesses in an interview on State TV. Mr. Protasevich acknowledges the attempt to topple the image of the president, Alexander Lukashenko. Alexander Lukashenko claimed victory on the 9th of August for winning the presidential election. Later, protests begin leading to unrest and crackdown. The protest also results in the arrest of opposition leaders.

Belarusian Journalist Arrested

Human Rights activists and Opposition Campaigners express severe criticism. The marks and bruises are clearly visible which indicated torture on MR Protasevich. Belarusian Journalist Roman Protasevich says he speaks to the channel by choice. The young Journalist bursts into tears at the end of the interview. Mr. Protasevich while speaking to the channels shares his stance and confesses to his attempt. Later, Protasevich said his stance on President Lukashenko was manipulative. However, he has realized that President Lukashenko was doing right.

The father of the Belarusian Journalist says he’s broke to see his son. They put pressure on Roman Protasevich to confess a crime that he didn’t commit. The government of Belarus has put Mr. Protasevich on the list of individuals involved in terrorist activities. However, the action of arresting and torturing indicates something else. Also, the advocacy group Human Rights Watch terms the government action as brutality.
