    Twitter Deletes Nigerian President's account

    Twitter deletes down the Tweet of Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari. The Nigerian President’s Tweet’s removal from the platform without absolutely any connections. Also, the Nigerian government clearly shares its strict stance on breaching social media platforms. Breaching the ban will result in the prosecution of that individual or entity. The government put the ban on the Social Media platform on Friday. The country network operator blocks access to the platform. However, some Twitterati has become successful in getting access. The ban comes as Twitter takes down the Tweet of “Muhammadu Buhari” President of Nigeria. Reportedly, the ban was consequently due to breaching the platform’s rule.

    Twitter Deletes Nigerian President's Tweet

    Twitter deletes the post of President Muhammadu Buhari following the violation of the platform’s rules. Some people confirm that post about the Nigerian Civil War. Referring it to the veiled threat towards secessionists in the South East of Nigeria. The Buhari regime says, removal of the Tweet “Disappointing”. Also, that the ban wasn’t the only reason for suspension. The government cites the social media platform as the reason for unrest in the country.

    The social media platform is series of problems, says the government. This involves spreading false news and misinformation leading to real-world consequences. Also, many strictly condemned the ban, calling it barring Nigeria from freedom of speech. The announcement of the ban is concerning, says Twitter. Also, human rights groups and other sources say it’s a violation of rights. The Justice Minister direct authorities to prosecute individual or entities violating the ban. The Nigerian government alleges the use of Twitter intends to target individuals and corporations.
