Umar Akmal lodged a complaint against a senior police officer in a fraud case of Rs 11 lakh
Pakistan’s middle-order batsman Umar Akmal has lodged a complaint with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation regarding the progress of a Rs 1.1 million fraud case. The Test cricketer has lodged a complaint against Superintendent of Police Cantt Lahore for non-cooperation.
According to the Lahore police spokesperson, the national cricketer met SSP Investigation Imran Kishore and said that it had been eight months since the case was registered but the police was not cooperating.
Umar Akmal further said that accused Sameer committed fraud of Rs. 5 crore. A case of damages of Rs 11 lakh was registere in Police Station Defense B. However, the investigating officer Tariq has removed the name of the accused.
The spokesman further said that Umar Akmal had complained that he went to SP Investigation Cantt Hamza Amanullah. And waited for two hours but could not meet him.
SSP Investigation Imran Kishore assured the national cricketer that the department would resolve the matter on merit. And action would be taken against the accused.
It may be recalle that Umar was arreste in February 2014. On charges of killing traffic warden Zeeshan. And tearing his uniform after stopping him for violating the signal.
Last month, the Pakistan Cricket Board summoned. Umar Akmal along with three other cricketers for a fitness test in the hot weather in Lahore. The middle-order batsman last represented Pakistan on a tour of Australia in 2019.
