Punjab’s budget of Rs 3,226 billion presented for the new financial year Rs 685 billion proposal for development program. Total revenue estimate Rs 2,521.29 billion allocated. Therefore, 10% more funds being set aside for health sector; Rs 428.56 billion proposal for education.

In urban areas; it is propose to increase the rate of stamp duty from 1% to 2%. Rs 365 billion is being allocate in the development budget; for the ongoing schemes. Furthermore; 40% of the development budget is for social sector and 24% for infrastructure.

Owais Leghari said that 10% more funds are being allocate for the health sector. The health budget has allocated Rs 296 billion for non-development expenditure. Rs 174.50 billion has been allocate for development funds in the health budget, total budget.

It is propose to allocate Rs. 485.26 billion for the health sector.  A significant amount of Rs. 240 billion has been allocate for South Punjab.
